Ms. Evette Whatley

Ms. Whatley joined NASA HQ in 2014 working for Office of International and Interagency Relations as Executive Assistant supporting both the Aeronautics and Cross-Agency Support Division and Advisory Committee Management Division. She was later selected as Executive Assistant to support the Office of the Chief Technologist (OCT) where she supported the Chief, Deputy Chief and OCT team.
Whatley brings to her position as Administrative Officer of the ASAP more than 25 years of administrative experience gained while working with the Department of Navy.
Prior to NASA HQ, Whatley spent 27 years employed with the Department of the Navy and Department of Defense. The commands at which she worked are Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic in Norfolk, Virginia as an Executive Assistant to the front office staff supporting the Commanding Officer, Technical Director, Executive Officer, and other front office personnel. Preceding that, she worked as Timekeeper and payroll clerk as part of the Human Resources Department at U.S. Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, Virginia supporting over 1500 civilian and military personnel. She also worked at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia; Personnel Support Detachment, Norfolk, Virginia; Personnel Support Detachment, Ceiba, Puerto Rico; Air Operations Department, Naval Station, Memphis, Tennessee; Administration Department, Naval Station, Lemoore, California; Public Affairs Office, Naval Station Lemoore, California; and Naval Hospital, Lemoore, California.
Whatley had her start in employment working as a substitute teacher and as an emergency replacement teacher in the Reef-Sunset Unified School District in Avenal and Kettleman City, California.
Whatley received her B.S. degree from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia.
