Ms. Carol J. Hamilton
Carol Hamilton has specialized in system safety engineering for more than twenty five years. Her career also includes seven years’ experience in systems engineering, systems verification and system test engineering for both NASA space systems and the Department of Defense (DOD) weapon systems. Working at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) since 1991, Ms. Hamilton has contributed to more than fifteen NASA space flight missions, servings as a contractor Senior System Safety Engineer for eight manned-space Shuttle missions and as a Civil Servant, as a Project Safety Manager (PSM) for over nine unmanned space missions. During her NASA career, she has also served as an instructor for the NASA Safety Training Center, the Chairperson for the Payload Safety Working Group (PSWG) for the AMES Flight Center Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) mission, the GSFC Mishap Coordinator for mission-related mishaps, and has served on a number of NASA mishap investigation boards.
